Published 200+ stories for Spectrum News 1, covering public health, science and other local topics. Expanded COVID-19 coverage with explainers, research stories and data analysis. Created series on statewide climate impacts and spearheaded coverage of the environment. Produced story pages for app and website. Provided multimedia elements and appeared in on-air segments. Supported Report for America's mission of revitalizing local news.

Freelancer, COVID-19 Data Team

Was an initial member of the Pulitzer Prize-winning team that provided research, data analysis and reporting to map out coronavirus cases in the U.S. Tracked COVID-19 reports from counties, long-term care facilities and other outbreaks.

Southeast Bureau Intern

Supported CNN coverage of southeast U.S. by conducting research, pitching stories, assisting on shoots. Wrote for CNN Digital and shadow across departments to learn about different roles in the industry.

Editorial Intern

Wrote more than 20 stories for website and pieces for newsletter, covering science, history, art and culture. Reported on major international science news, including NASA twins study and UN biodiversity report. Contributed research and fact checked stories for print magazine.

Coordinated all coverage of Northwestern and its students, faculty and alumni; oversaw stories on student activism, U.S. Senate hearings, major lawsuits, campus emergencies. Led team of 20 student reporters. Researched, assigned and edited 200+ stories for campus desk over the quarter.
